Rootstock Architecture Inc. is a growing Architectural Studio registered in Alberta and British Columbia. We currently specialize in multi-family, high-end single family and commercial/professional projects with an emphasis on innovation, shared enthusiasm, and sustainability. This opening is ideal for a Intern Architect who is an experienced designer looking to further connect with personalized projects in a laid-back office culture - we stand back and let you do what you do best. Rootstock is looking for an inspired designer who is:

• Excited about residential design;
• Has good knowledge of presentation software e.g. INDESIGN / LUMION / ENSCAPE / REVIT / SKETCHUP / others;
• Has experience or is excited to learn about project process for production builders;
• Has experience or is excited to learn about wood-frame construction and how it applies to design;
• Has experience or would like to learn about client and project management;
• Looking for a growth opportunity in a company where they will receive 1 on 1 mentorship with the principal architect with the view of future succession, “Principal Potential…”;
• Well-spoken with a good command of English, comfortable with interpreting by-law and code under supervision;
• Enjoys a smaller office setting but open to working in a larger setting when company grows;
• Enjoys collaboration and is inspired by working in a group setting;
• Someone who has experience and enjoys leading a team;
• Someone who has an eye on future technologies and would like to help bring those into the office.

Must Haves:

• Revit
• Sketchup

Nice to Have:

• Autocad
